HawkerSnap — Privacy Policy

HawkerSnap ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Xclusive Labs, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the HawkerSnap mobile application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Food Photos (Camera Data)

When you photograph food, the image is sent to a third-party AI API for food recognition and calorie estimation. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers or retained after the response is returned.

b) Usage Data (v1.0 — Free Version)

In the current free version of the App, all calorie logs and food history are stored locally on your device only. We do not collect or transmit this data.

c) Future Premium Version (Cloud Sync)

A future paid upgrade may allow users to optionally create an account and sync data to the cloud. If and when this feature is introduced, we will update this policy and request your explicit consent before any data is uploaded.

d) No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

We do not embed advertising SDKs or third-party analytics tools in the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above solely to:

Recognise food items from photos and return calorie estimates
Display your logged meals and daily calorie totals within the App
Improve App performance and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Image Recognition — TrustAI

Food photos are sent to TrustAI, a third-party image recognition API, solely for the purpose of identifying food items and estimating calorie content. Please note the following:

Photos are transmitted to TrustAI's servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
TrustAI processes the image to return a food recognition result and does not retain your photos after processing.
TrustAI's own Privacy Policy governs how they handle data on their end. We encourage you to review it at their official website.
We do not share any personally identifiable information with TrustAI — only the food photo is transmitted.

We periodically review our third-party providers and will update this policy if the image recognition provider changes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your food logs are stored locally on your device in the free version.
Photos are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to the AI API.
We do not have access to locally stored data on your device.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect transmitted data, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Children's Privacy

HawkerSnap is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

6. Your Rights

Since v1.0 collects no personal data from users, there is no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete. You may clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data via your device settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
